Meet Jordan, Truvelle's resident artist and assistant stock manager :
Can you describe your role at Truvelle?
I work in Truvelle Dress Creation / Gown Birth Depot / Tru-lab. I make the individual pieces of a wedding dress, then put them into a nice lil package for seamstress to sew them all together. This includes things like cutting lace patterns, cutting skirts and linings to the correct size, and sewing the inside pieces of a bodice. I also keep track of dress production status; updating when dresses are completed and have been started.
What does your typical day look like?
A day usually consists of steadily making the components of dress packages, then lunch around 1pm, then more dress package making.
Why did you want to work at Truvelle?
I wanted to work at Truvelle because my father worked here, and my father’s father before him. It's been a dream of mine since long long ago. I applied like 3 times, watching youtube tutorials on how to sew and cut fabric. Gaby, was a little hesitant to hire me because we were friends first. But I showed her that with hard work, attention to detail, and precision craftsmanship, that I was a great fit for Truvelle. Thus, I shattered the illusion that friends can't work together <3
What is your favourite Truvelle gown?
I like the Mary dress right now. My favourite dress is always changing. It was the Alexandra dress last week. I think it’s important to have fluid style.
Describe your dream apartment :
Ummm probably something with hardwood floor, tall ceilings, small backyard with an apricot tree and a little shiba inu sleeping out there in the sun. Maybe there is a fountain in the backyard with a greek statue and all the neighbours cats come over in the day and sip water and chill. I have a bright studio that faces the backyard. I paint in there while I listen to a Joe Rogan podcast or some music idk. It's a relatively small apartment so I don't have to do too much walking. Maybe a loft bedroom that over looks the kitchen on one side, and the living room on the other side. It's bright and clean inside my apartment. There is a woodblock print by Hasui Kawase, and a Nicholas Roerich painting in the living room. The hot water pipes run underneath the tiles in the kitchen. My feet stay warm in the winter. The kids in the neighbourhood don't come by my house to trick or treat at halloween because they know I don't have and candy for them and don't want to be bothered.
When not at work, you are?
Currently I have been making digital paintings. In my leisurely time I am writing a story and doing the illustrations too, to help paint the vibe. All of my closest friends have a love for film. We work together to create films and enter commercial contests to win money to fund our own projects.
