Meet Annie, Truvelle's Quality Control Assistant turned Garment Tech :

Can you describe your role at Truvelle?
I work as an Assistant Garment Tech. I sew the skirt portion of the gowns. I also work closely with the Quality Control team. If they notice any dresses that don't meet our standards, I fix those dresses so that we can ensure the best quality gowns for our Truvelle brides.

What is one thing you want others to know about your work here, or Truvelle in general?
I want people to know that every Truvelle gown is handmade locally. A lot of love and care goes into every step of the production process, from the first fabric cut to the final check before shipping.

You’ve studied acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, what drew you to the stage? Do you have an actress/actor that really stands out to you?
I was drawn to the stage because to me it's the safest place in the world. I don't have to worry about how to behave or what to say next because I always know exactly what's coming and I'm free to just be the character.

An actor who stands out to me is Marion Cotillard. Her versatility and ability to transform into her character is amazing. I recommend anyone who has not yet seen her in "La Vie en Rose," to watch it immediately.

What has been your favourite on stage/in front of a camera moment?
My favourite onstage role to date was Nurse Ratched in a production of "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest." Next I'll be playing the role of Audrey in the Vagabond Players Theatre Company's upcoming production of "Little Shop of Horrors." October 5th to 29th in New Westminster B.C. Tickets at vagabondplayers.ca

    Your favourite Truvelle gown?
My favourite Truvelle gown is the Alix dress. I love the continuous lace and the scoop neck bodice. It's very simple and yet the pattern of the lace is intricate and beautiful.

    How would you style it?
I'm a sucker for a veil. I would style the dress with a fingertip length classic ivory veil.

Best way to spend a weekend?
My favourite way to spend a weekend would be in my favourite place, Bowen Island B.C. I love weekends there with my boyfriend, our dog, some friends, good food and a glass of wine in my hand.

3 things you can’t live without?
Coffee, Pizza and my fur-baby, Bootsy.

    Bootsy!
