February 25, 2020 Rachel + Taro
Words from the bride:
Taro & I met at when mutual friends of ours threw a party, and he ended up being my opponent for a drinking game. Competition turned into flirting, and the next thing we knew, we were joking about our future kids' names!
The proposal was absolute magic, but came as a complete shock! After spontaneous brunch and a bike ride we ended up across the city, where there was a keyboard set up on the beach. He claimed not to know why it was there, but started playing "Your Song". He then got down on his knee and said a bunch of sweet things that I cannot remember because I was so confused and excited. Two of my best friends were hiding amongst the tourists and filming the whole thing!
Since Taro was raised in Germany, and my family is from the US, Mexico was an excuse to have a group vacation where our families could spend quality time together. Plus, it felt more fair if everyone had to travel.
Our main focus was that everyone felt important + celebrated, with love and connection as our biggest priorities. We manifested this all weekend by spending quality time with everyone. We also picked a great venue that anyone would want to spend time at regardless, and we let nature steal the show. In the end, the day couldn't have been more perfect for us.
The Sara dress was everything I wanted. I have a very simple style, and I was tempted to do something minimal, but I'm happy I didn't! Your wedding might be the only day in your life you can float around in layers of tulle and gorgeous beading, and nobody should miss that chance!
