  • February 23, 2017 How to Brew Chrysanthemum Tea

For most people, to make tea - a tea infusion, if you will - simply means to pour boiling water into a pot with some tea leaves or a tea bag. There is nothing wrong with that, but for those who want to get a little more out of your tea, we learned a few things from Cultivate Tea that we would like to share. We’ve learned that a tea infusion is about achieving a desired taste and aroma. This is done by using a certain combination of tea, water, temperature, ratio, and steeping process. Even how the leaves come into contact with the water affects the result. Pretty much the same idea as one manages to cook a great stew.

We particularly fell in love with chrysanthemum tea at Cultivate Tea. Not only because it’s just so darn pretty, but for its extra benefits. Chrysanthemum tea is caffeine-free, it helps calm and soothe the nerves, and has a natural detoxifying effect. It purifies the blood and improves blood flow. It detoxifies the liver and helps improve vision and hearing. The tea is clear and yellowish in colour and exudes a floral aroma. You can enjoy it hot in the winter or cold on warm summer days. And with its numerous healing benefits, the chrysanthemum flower tea might just be the perfect substitute for regular tea or coffee.

    How To Brew Chrysanthemum Tea:

    You will need:
    • 12-15 Chrysanthemum flower buds
    • 100 degrees Celsius water
    • 350 ml brew pot
    Instructions:
    • Boil water
    • Add the flower buds to brew pot
    • Fill the brewer to the top with water
    • Steep for 3 minutes
    • Serve tea & enjoy!

The buds can be used several times by simply adding more hot water to the flowers after you finish the first infusion of the tea.
