May 23, 2017 Krystina + Morgan
Words from the bride, Krystina:
"Ya’ll, our wedding was all the things.
I wanted nothing more than to be in the company of our closest family and friends who traveled from both near and far. We wanted an intimate fall wedding that toed the line between modern and rustic elegance. We found the venue that dreams are made of; Grant Hill Farms. We knew that if we threw in our mutual love of fried chicken, we could create an atmosphere of southern comfort. Without crowding or overtaking any of the simple beauty, we chose to stick with minimalistic décor. With shades of grey, white, and touches of navy, all pulled together with raw wood textures, to provide depth for an organic natural greenery backdrop, and softened by the simple warmth of candlelight.
I wanted to be sure and show off our personal style, which is why I opted for my grey ankle booties, and Morgan showcased his hometown pride with his infamous KC socks. I personally cringe at the thought of poufy, cookie-cutter weddings, which is why my Truvelle Alexandra just fit. I knew it as soon as I tried her on. The effortless difference of this dress was all I could wish for in a wedding gown. And believe me, I had traveled to eight other bridal salons while on my search for this kind of different, which truth be told, I wasn’t even sure existed. But I found all that, and then some at BRIDE, located in the heart of Kansas City. (Plus I’ll be honest; I took it as a sign that the name of the dress was my middle name. I mean, come on. Right?)
Aside from all the dreamy details, I prayed for this day to be a personal reflection of us, and centered on our love and commitment to one another. We truly felt that we had accomplished sharing our marriage and this life that we’re building together with those who have helped shape who we are individually throughout the many stages of our lives leading up to this moment."
