September 24, 2016 Our Favorite Florist Instagrams to Follow
We could spend all day looking at florals. And if we weren’t so busy here creating wedding gowns, we might just be dabbling in the art of arrangement. An unassuming bouquet or installation can transform a wedding from simple and sparse to interesting and inspiring. But choosing the perfect flowers for your wedding is no easy feat, so we’ve compiled our favourite, and most beautiful florist Instagram feeds for ~all~ of the inspiration:
Putnam & Putnam - Florist couple Darroch and Michael run Putnam & Putnam out of the Lower East Side in New York City and have created truly magical editorial installations for Vogue, Dior, The Knot, and many more. The duo boasts backgrounds in photography and interior design, and describe their aesthetic as “Lush and Romantic”, we agree.
Floret Flowers - Floret Flowers is the cutest little family-run, flower farm in Washington State committed to sustainable growing practices.Their Insta feed is filled with fields full of beautiful, bright flowers and natural design arrangements. You may have internet stumbled upon a viral photo of a white pickup truck filled with a rainbow of fresh blooms (even Britney Spears reposted it), that was from these guys.
The Wild Bunch - Our homegrown pick for an incredible Insta feed comes from Nastaran Soofi Siavash at The Wild Bunch. Nasi left her job at an art gallery to pursue her true passion, and become a florist. The Wild Bunch specializes in seasonal bouquets sourced locally. When not in her Strathcona studio you’ll find Nasi arranging bouquets in local gastown hangout, The Birds and the Beets.
Jo Flowers - Jo Flowers, run by Joanna Rodwell is located in Norfolk, England. Trained in the classic techniques of floristry, she composes truly elegant, renaissance-like bouquets (think 16th century still life). Much of her stock is grown in her garden. Grab a cup of Earl Grey and browse through this feed for a glimpse of what life would be like living in an English Garden.
Swallows and Damsons - An oh-so-romantic flower shop and studio located in Sheffield, England. Founded by Anna Potter, they specialize in Vintage Glamour and Rustic styles. We love her feed for the amazing photography, incredible still lifes, and the behind the scenes peeks into the studio.
Mary Lennox - Ruby Barber is the main lady behind floral studio Mary Lennox (an homage to the character from the classic novel, The Secret Garden). Located in Berlin, Germany, Mary Lennox creates totally dreamy arrangements and installations. Follow her feed for lush locations and pastel bouquets.
