There is something totally magical about forest weddings and we think Brianna and Austin captured it perfectly
with their low-key, intimate fall wedding.

Best moments from the day?  
My favorite moments from the day include putting on my dress with my mom, it was a really special and quiet time.  We could see the boys out near the field taking photos. It was the moment that everything slowed down after the rush of the morning.  Austin and I also had a few moments together in the tent between photos and the ceremony, to just sit and take everything in. It was all so beautiful and serene.  And of course the moment after we said our vows, kissed, and turned around for the first time as a married couple to face all of our people, it is such a warm but foreign feeling.  Austin's favorite moment was our first look, he teared up, it was very sweet!
About the location:
Our wedding was held at a family home about a mile outside of the small Indiana town that I am from. This was very special for me because it is also very close to the home and woods that I grew up in. This property has always been a sort of magical place, we often had our family reunions here in the summer. Austin and I wanted an outdoor setting that was unique and away from traffic noise, that would be private, we were truly blessed by the grace of my cousin who opened her home to us and our guests! It was a little scary planning an outdoor wedding, because of course the weather can be unpredictable. It actually rained almost the entire weekend leading up to our wedding, but on that day it was perfect. It wasn’t too hot or too cold, not a drop of rain until well after the festivities had ended, and the natural lighting was gorgeous!
How did you find your dress?
It was actually our photographer Destany who suggested that I look at a boutique in Holland, MI called Spring Sweet. This shop was a dream from the moment I walked in. My husband and I actually went shopping here together, which turned out to be the perfect scenario for me. I was so comfortable and relaxed at Spring Sweet, there were so many choices that were in not only styles of gowns that I was thrilled to try, but I was also very comfortably within my budget. We had a lovely afternoon in their front room, I felt like I had the space to just be myself and find the gown that was perfect for me. I saw Jordan on the rack and literally said out loud, “this is exactly what I’ve been looking for” and low and behold it was true, that was my dress!
Advice for brides?
Our advice for other couples is to not sweat the small stuff and to have exactly the wedding you and your partner want to have. It really is about the two of you and the beginning of the life you share. Do what’s best for you and be there for each other!!
